With the new Shutterstock iPad app you can now access over 17 million images with the touch of a finger! Shutterstock’s collaboration with Xtreme Labs has produced a brilliant iPad application, which showcases 26+ categories of captivating imagery with a simple and beautiful user interface.

When you first open up the Shutterstock app on your iPad you are greeted with a few options:

Custom Photo Search:  Explore over 17 million images in Shutterstocks’s library with a keyword or topic.  With such a huge database to draw from, how you start is just the beginning of the amazing Shutterstock browsing experience. 2. Category Search:  With over 26+ sub-categories you will have an easier time finding what you are looking for.  People, Religion, Technology, Transportation, Backgrounds/Textures, Animals/Wildlife, and Business/Finance are just a few.
3. Lightboxes: Lightboxes are custom-made folders that are a perfect way to visually group images together.  You can check out Featured Lightboxes by other users, or organize your own!  The Featured Lightboxes are updated frequently so check-in regularly to see the latest inspirations from Shutterstock. You can organize your Lightboxes based on topic, theme, or project; whatever works for you! These Lightboxes are easy to share too via Facebook, Twitter and Email – all from directly within the app.

No matter the method of navigation you choose, the app will interlock the search results into a beautiful mosaic using Shutterstock’s wealth of images. Each mosaic is generated by the app at runtime using a sophisticated algorithm that creates the layout based on image dimensions in the search results. Swiping through the mosaic is smooth and effortless allowing you to view the images without jarring interruptions. The concept of “pages” is now a thing of the past, as the app will continue to present images to you as long as there are results to present.
